Statement on Inclusive Excellence and Education Fairness

Summary Statement
The Thoracic Surgery Program Directors Association (TSDA) is committed to fostering a working and learning environment where people from all backgrounds are accepted, celebrated, and respected. TSDA encourages collaboration, growth-mindset, and fairness where the talents and contributions of all members, staff and trainees are respected and valued. TSDA will include qualified individuals with expertise to enrich the experience for all. This will allow TSDA to promote fairness more effectively in the field of cardiothoracic surgery and in health care. This will ultimately improve the quality of members in our specialty, and in the delivery of care. TSDA members and leaders will encourage fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all qualified faculty, and staff, and qualified, meritorious trainees.
